Empowering Through Education

Alefba (meaning “Alphabet” in Persian) marks the beginning of change. We are a voluntary, non-profit association dedicated to supporting Afghan women and girls through learning, connection, and collective care.

What We Believe In

We believe in the transformative power of education. Our values are rooted in inclusion, women’s leadership in building equitable societies, the richness of diversity, and a shared commitment to uplifting those who have been silenced.

How We Work

We are an international, grassroots network of volunteers from Afghanistan, Italy, the U.S., Germany, the Czech Republic, and beyond.
Through language courses, digital literacy, vocational training, and storytelling, we help women and girls gain the tools and confidence to shape their own futures.
We act with care, transparency, and collaboration — working closely with local communities and associations to ensure relevance and respect.
